Medical Assistant Application

Kids University, hosted by the College of Education and Human Development, is a non-profit summer program that offers low-cost, high-quality educational activities on the Summerville Campus to serve approximately 100 K-8 children, ages 5 to 14, in our local communities.

The instructor application period will start on October 15 of every year and will close when the position is filled (1 position only). The medical assistant’s pay rate is $20 per hour.

Job Duties 

  • Work collaboratively with the primary instructor to plan and deliver lessons.

 

Expectations 

A co-teacher must be directly recommended by the primary instructor to assist in planning and teaching the course. The co-teacher’s work hours will match those of the primary instructor.

 

Work Schedule 

  • 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (8 hours per day, lunch break: 30 minutes)

 

Applicant Qualification 

  • Completion of Medical Assistant training
  • Must be legally allowed to work in the U.S. without needing a sponsorship
  • Prior experience working in a hospital preferred
  • Prior experience working in a camp/school setting preferred
  • Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Availability to work the full duration of the summer camp

 

Declaration 

Kids University is a self-funded program and does not receive funding from the university. Thus, employment is not guaranteed. Based on enrollment, we will then adjust. If enrollment is low, we won’t be able to run the program or will have to cut accepted applications. If enrollment is high, we will consider applications that are not accepted in the first round.
