Co-Teacher Application

Kids University, hosted by the College of Education and Human Development, is a non-profit summer program that offers low-cost, high-quality educational activities on the Summerville Campus to serve approximately 100 K-8 children, ages 5 to 14, in our local communities.

Co-teachers must be recommended directly by the instructor. Applications will open after instructor interviews are completed. The co-teacher’s pay rate is $20 per hour.

Job Duties 

  • Work collaboratively with the primary instructor to plan and deliver lessons.

 

Expectations 

A co-teacher must be directly recommended by the primary instructor to assist in planning and teaching the course. The co-teacher’s work hours will match those of the primary instructor.

 

Work Schedule 

  • Morning Shift: 8:00 AM-1:00 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 12:30 PM-5:30 PM 

 

Applicant Qualification 

  • Must be recommended to work in the same class by the instructor
  • Must be  legally allowed to work in the U.S. without needing a sponsorship
  • Must be a certified teacher or paraeducator with at least five years of K–8 classroom experience.

 

Declaration 

Kids University is a self-funded program and does not receive funding from the university. Thus, employment is not guaranteed. Based on enrollment, we will then adjust. If enrollment is low, we won’t be able to run the program or will have to cut accepted applications. If enrollment is high, we will consider applications that are not accepted in the first round.
