Barnton Connections

Barnton Junction

The proposals for this section of the route

  • Change the crossing on the west side of the junction so it's safer and easier for people walking and wheeling. We're also making the middle island in the road wider so there's more space and it's safer.
  • Segregated cycle track will continue across the junction, separated from pedestrian crossing.
  • Changes to traffic lanes.
  • The junction arm for Maybury to Whitehouse Road (Cramond/Barnton) would be go straight only.
  • One right turn lane from Whitehouse Road to Queensferry Road.
  • The police box on Maybury Road would be relocated and we would like the community to suggest what it could be used for.
