Itinerary

03

April

Day One

Students will travel independently from the United States to Grenada to St. George's University. Upon arrival, students will check into their accommodations and participate in a program orientation covering the week's schedule, expectations, and health and safety information.

04

April

Day Two

Students will be introduced to Grenada's cultural and environmental context while learning observational techniques used throughout the course. Activities include guided observational sketching exercises and an overview of project expectations and documentation methods.

05

April

Day Three

Students will tour St. George's University, explore medical education in an international setting, and learn how biomedical visualization supports teaching and learning. Structured observation and sketching activities will allow students to analyze visual communication in a healthcare environment.

06

April

Day Four

Students will continue observations within St. George's University while interacting with faculty and students to better understand communication challenges in medical education. Using these experiences, students will identify a communication problem and begin developing concepts for their visual communication project.

07

April

Day Five

Students will participate in a guided snorkel excursion to Grenada's Underwater Sculpture Park, using the marine environment as a setting for observational sketching and systems-thinking activities. Discussions will connect biological systems and environmental observation to effective visual communication strategies.

08

April

Day Six

Students will synthesize their observations into a final visual communication project through guided studio work and faculty feedback. Individual and group critiques will help refine concepts while encouraging thoughtful reflection on design decisions.

09
