The Minimally Invasive Surgery section at the Medical College of Georgia at Â鶹AV University specializes in robotic, advanced laparoscopic, and endoscopic techniques to treat a variety of disorders.  The Minimally Invasive Surgery faculty are fellowship-trained surgeons with expertise in the following:

• Bariatric Surgery
• Forgut surgery (treatment for achalasia, gastroesophageal reflux disease)
• Hiatal/Paraesophageal Hernias
• Solid Organ Surgery (Adrenal and Spleen)
• Abdominal Wall Hernias
• Inguinal Hernias
• Gallbladder Surgery
• Diagnostic and Therapeutic Flexible Endoscopy (EGDs)

Our Minimally Invasive Surgery faculty and staff actively collaborate with basic and translational scientists, and co-direct translational research programs.

These specialty clinical programs provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to patients with adrenal disorders, obesity and hernias of the abdominal wall. This allows patients to receive the highest quality, specialized care from experts. These centers also provide excellent opportunities for educating both surgeons in training as well as surgeons in practice, and performing research in order to improve the quality of care that we deliver.   

The Minimally Invasive Surgery Section is integrated with the . The Center offers comprehensive
gastroenterology and hepatology patient care, as well as international expertise in the research of and patient care for GI dysmotility disorders.
