Rural Surgery Simulation Curriculum Development: Needs Assessment, Design & Development

- Identify learner-level, procedural, and systems-level needs that should be assessed when developing a simulation-based educational program for rural or resource-variable clinical environments.
- Map identified educational needs to measurable learning objectives, case-based content, procedural skills stations, and multidisciplinary simulation activities.
- Describe at least three strategies for scalable implementation of an outreach simulation curriculum, including portable simulation resources, engagement of local clinical champions, and train-the-trainer approaches.
- Design a multimodal evaluation strategy that assesses knowledge acquisition, procedural confidence, team-based performance, program feasibility, and opportunities for long-term sustainability and dissemination.

- Define foundational AI terminology including algorithms, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and large language models using clear examples relevant to clinical practice.
