The is the centralized application service for all US dental schools. ADEA AADSAS simplifies the application process by allowing applicants to complete a single, standardized application.
Georgia Residency
Georgia residents, along with up to 10 percent of out-of-state residents and eligible international candidates, are considered for acceptance. Candidates of Aiken and Edgefield counties in South Carolina are no longer eligible for in-state tuition. Previously, all 麻豆AV students in these counties were eligible for an in-state waiver for tuition purposes. This is no longer the case for candidates applying to the DMD program.
To establish Georgia residency, an applicant must show proof of residing in Georgia for at least 12 consecutive months before enrollment. Examples for establishing residency are obtaining a Georgia driver鈥檚 license, vehicle and voter registration. International applicants must present valid U.S. Permanent Resident documentation or other valid Visa documentation. All applicants who are granted an interview must show additional documentation as proof of lawful presence in the United States before being offered acceptance.

Academic Criteria/Dental Admissions Test (DAT)
DAT: Minimum of 16 in each section
DAT Cost: $495
The DAT must be taken by September 30, 2021. Applicants are required to take the DAT within three years of applying.
Dental Experiences
While there is no set number of required hours, the average number of hours of experience in a dental setting is 300. This may include shadowing in a dental office, dental mission trip or working in a clinical dental setting. Also, DCG will accept up to 25 hours of virtual shadowing on approved sites.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
The TOEFL exam is required if English is not your native language. For those applying to DCG, the cost to take the test in the U.S. is $225, but varies based on testing location.

Letters of Recommendation
All letters of recommendation to The Dental College of Georgia at 麻豆AV must be submitted through the AADSAS service. The applicants for the entering class have two options for submitting letters of recommendations:

Once an applicant has begun an AADSAS application and lists their recommenders and contact information, each recommender will receive a link via email with instructions on how to submit their letter on behalf of the applicant.
The recommender will receive the link as soon as the applicant adds and saves their name and contact information. The applicant's AADSAS application does not have to be finished or submitted before the recommendation links are sent.

Final admission decisions are made based on the grade point averages (overall and science), DAT scores, letters of recommendation, interviews, language test scores, as appropriate, and an assessment of the motivation and personal qualities of the applicant deemed most conducive to successfully completing the program and the practice of dentistry. The DCG accepts up to 10 percent of students from out-of-state and eligible international students into the entering class.
The DCG Admissions Committee takes into consideration all aspects of an applicant's background, which may be relevant to the successful practice of dentistry, including unusual educational experiences or background, life experiences, work experiences, demonstrations of leadership in activities, involvement in community and extracurricular activities, and experience in an oral health care setting. The Committee believes that students with diverse backgrounds are an asset to The Dental College of Georgia, the dental profession, the State of Georgia, and the United States.
